The 76 page supplementary booklet which accompanies this calendar is designed to give a fuller explanation as to the importance of dates and events recorded on the calendar itself and will hopefully enhance the users’ knowledge and understanding of the true history of this land. This 2012 version includes new events, based on the four key themes that have occurred in the intervening 2 years since the publishing of the 2010 version. There is also an alphabetical index at the back of the supplement to facilitate search options for specific events and information.

However, like the calendar, the supplement is simply a ‘taster’ - designed to encourage users to find out more about any events or situations that are of particular interest.

In these times when the internet and the world wide web are at our finger tips there is a wealth of additional information that can be added to the basic facts and explanations that are recorded in this supplement

A few international dates are included in both the calendar and the supplement - mainly when it is considered that their international significance has had a particular bearing on our own history and development as a nation.

I would welcome hearing from anyone who has comments, corrections, criticisms and/or additional dates and material based on CULTURE, GENDER, CLASS & ECOLOGY which could be added to this resource in the future.
